10 Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters We Wouldn't Mind Being Recast

5. Russell Crowe Replacing Bradley Cooper As Rocket Racoon

Rock 0

Bradley Cooper being cast to this role, I believe, was overlooked during the madness of the Ben Affleck announcement as Batman. Quite possibly because of the lack of connection people have to this character (or lack they have at the moment, as "Rocky" will probably steal the spotlight). Rocky is an obscure and odd character with amazing origins from completely unrelated circumstances to the main stories occurring in Guardians of the Galaxy. Because he is strange and exotic, Russell Crowe would make a much better choice in vocal profile; his voice has a gruff, smoky, seemingly weathered, and an experienced weary world traveler quality.

Rocket Raccoon was already portrayed as an animated character, and he has a very "Aussie" outback counterpart to Wolverines voice that is hard to ignore. Especially due to Rocky being a tiny raccoon carrying what can only be described as "BFG's", or in the comic frame above "...unfeasibly large gun..."

I'm a writer, a published author, and editor for a small independent publishing house. I'm an award winning producer of independent media, and I get to edit books, screenplays, and comics in my day to day. I love working on independent film & games, during my down time, as well as reviewing films while gobbling down milk duds (it's an addiction, I know). I've been called "Geek-Prime" among my peers for all the fandoms I work in, and I wear that title proudly. It's a passion, and an exercise in my growing profession, to get to write about what I love. Which happens to be a little of everything. But mostly film, comics, horror, games, anime, literature, and life. I do write about academic material, like politics, medicine, physics, and mathematics too. But for the most part, I like to keep things down to earth and simple. Follow me on Twitter & Facebook
