1. NOT Giving Cap & Bucky A Final Farewell - Avengers: Endgame

What Should've Happened

Avengers: Endgame concludes with one final heroic send-off - after travelling back to the past to return the Infinity Stones and Mjolnir to their rightful time periods, Captain America (Chris Evans) arrives back to the present timeline, but with a twist.

As it turns out, Cap decided to live out a civilian life with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in his original timeline, causing him to return to this one an old man.

And despite fans expecting Cap to have one final tearful reunion with Bucky (Sebastian Stan), it never happens, which considering the well-developed bromance between the characters, just felt like a major dramatic miss.

Fans wanted these two pals to get a climactic, heartfelt moment together, yet were curiously robbed of it.

What Actually Happened

There is a fairly subtle implication that Bucky knows what Cap's about to do, and though they do share a tender callback to the first Captain America film, it's ultimately not really enough - especially as, on a first viewing, audiences have no idea it's the last words they're going to say to one another in the movie.

Instead, Cap's final farewell is to Falcon (Anthony Mackie), to whom he gifts the Captain America shield.

While choosing Sam to become the new Cap makes sense - given that Bucky is a former terrorist and all - Buck has always been his best bud, and the lack of real closure between the two just feels slightly off.

In a movie jam-packed with fan service, why didn't fans get the resolution they so thoroughly deserved?
