10 MCU Character Changes We Will Likely See In Phase 4

4. Wong Will Become The New Nick Fury

Back in its infancy, the Marvel Cinematic Universe built towards bringing together Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow to become the Avengers. The man behind the entire thing was Nick Fury, who continued as an ally to the team even after SHIELD was corrupted and dissolved in Phase Two.

Since then the franchise, its heroes, and their various teams and affiliations have only grown. However, Phase Four is a new beginning for the franchise. Thanos is dead and the Infinity Saga is over, paving the way for an entirely new generation of Avengers to come through.

This new iteration of the team may not have Nick Fury to bring them together, instead it seems as though they will have the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong. He has shown up all over the place in recent times, and doesn't look like slowing down. His interactions with Shang-Chi, Abomination, Spider-Man, America Chavez, and soon She-Hulk, as well as his history with Doctor Strange make him the perfect successor to Nick Fury.

Should some kind of big threat come through the mystical world, potentially Kang the Conqueror's abuse of the multiverse, it will fall to the Sorcerer Supreme to defend the world, and he will need some help.
