10 MCU Character Changes We Will Likely See In Phase 4

3. John Walker Will Lead The Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers

John Walker was without question the most hated man in MCU history just seconds after he showed his face in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He wasn't fit to take the Captain America mantle from the great Steve Rogers, and he certainly wasn't more deserving of the honour than Sam Wilson.

Yet, by the end of the series, he had gone through something of a transformation. For once he fought for something other than his own ego or self-interests, and Val kitted him out in the costume fans instantly recognised as that of US Agent.

He may have been unable to fill the boots of Steve Rogers, opposite to the Star-Spangled Man in most categories but the blonde hair and blue eyes, but John Walker was still an exemplary soldier. He was a leader, and this is something that Val will use to her advantage when finally setting up the MCU's iteration of the Thunderbolts.

With John Walker running point, the Thunderbolts could boast any number of characters, likely including Yelena, perhaps Abomination or Zemo, and who knows who else. Julia Louis-Dreyfus' MCU appearances have to be leading somewhere, and it's likely US Agent will be with her every step of the way.
