3. Ultron

The namesake of Avengers: Age of Ultron was no pushover. But fall he did, eventually, after Earth's mightiest heroes disposed of every last robotic vessel for his consciousness. Or did they?

Tony Stark's vision of a "suit of armour around the world" results in Ultron, a highly sophisticated artificial intelligence with an emergent god complex. Building himself a weaponised exoskeleton, Ultron seeks to transplant his mind into an organic body created with stolen Wakandan vibranium.

This plan is foiled, however, when Tony uploads his personal AI, J.A.R.V.I.S., into the body instead, creating the vastly powerful entity known as Vision. The Avengers, along with Vision and the Maximoff twins, defeat all of Ultron's drones save for one, which Vision tracks down and eliminates.

That's all of Ultron's physical bodies destroyed. But remember that Ultron is, at the core, a computer program; what was to stop him from backing himself up on any number of hard drives around the world? Could he still be lurking in the virtual shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike again?
