10 MCU Moments Better Than Their Comic Origin

1. The Motivation Behind The Snap

Avengers Infinity War Thanos
Marvel Studios

The Snap performed by the Infinity Gauntlet-wearing Thanos was felt across the comics, movies and even the real world as trillions of lives were instantly lost and numerous members of the fandom were left in shock. This act is now a staple of pop culture with lots of references and parodies that are sure to rise in its wake.

However, the motivations behind the Mad Titan's desire to wipe out half the universe's population greatly differ across the two media. Comic book Thanos performed the act out of a desire to please the living embodiment of Death, a being that he fancied (for some reason). MCU Thanos decided to get all omnicidal due to his fear that the universe's population was exceeding the currently available resources.

It is very evident that the film iteration of the character had a slightly more reasonable (but still highly misguided) rationale for his actions and it gave him more layers as a character; he genuinely believed his quest made him a noble being who was doing the right thing for the universe as opposed to simply being a generic cosmic conqueror.
