What Happened

As confirmed by Marvel One Shot All Hail The King, The Ten Rings were not a fake organisation led by Obediah Stane or Aldrich Killian. They're very much an active

Ant-Man later establishes that the group are still operating somewhere in the background, as one of their members turns up at the Yellowjacket tech sale meeting.

What it Teased

That they might have plans to do what terrorists usually do - take over the world through idiological shift (or in the case of this specific group, military coups) and we'd see either Iron Man or Ant-Man or both involved in finally taking them down.

Given that they were looking to buy the Yellowjacket tech, they must have had designs on something pretty big, since it was billed as the world's most powerful weapon.

But Then...

Bigger fish came along and the terrorists were mostly just forgotten about. Perhaps they were distracted by the rise of bigger villains themselves and just shelved their plans? Maybe Yellowjacket's defeat set them back so much they all went straight?

Perhaps we'll never know.
