6. Visible Crew Members Everywhere - The Terminator

James Cameron's The Terminator is a marvel of low-budget invention, an expertly crafted sci-fi horror classic which makes the most of its modest resources.

Though the animatronic and stop-motion Terminator perhaps hasn't aged spectacularly, it still harbours a sublimely creepy quality over 35 years on, if you can forgive some glaring mistakes.

The film's finale sees the exposed T-800 endoskeleton rising out of the fire and pursuing Sarah (Linda Hamilton) and Kyle (Michael Biehn), but when it first emerges out of the smoldering tanker wreckage, keen-eyed viewers might notice a crew member amid the flames pulling down a lever which causes the prop to rise up.

Once you've seen it, you'll wonder how you never noticed it before. But it's sadly not the only time the crew are visible during the chase sequence.

As the T-800 attempts to break into the Cyberdyne factory by hammering down a door, two crew members are clearly visible once again, this time seen operating the animatronic through a crack in the door (1:52 in the below clip).

As terrifying as the sequence is, to be reminded of the humans behind the Terminator is an instantly immersion-breaking mistake.
