When people think of 1992's Candyman, they'll think of Tony Todd's Daniel Robitaille and Virginia Madsen's Helen Lyle. Likewise, when thinking of the 2021 Candyman, thought immediately turns to Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Anthony McCoy and Teyonah Parris' Bri Cartwright.

One person often overlooked in both of these movies, is Anne-Marie McCoy. Played by Vanessa Williams, Anne-Marie is a fascinating character in the franchise; a fascinating character who undergoes as much trauma as pretty much anyone else in the entire series.

Some of the non-final girls featured on this list are here for their entertainment value, for how they help save the day, or for just how badass they were, but Anne-Marie is here for how tragic a figure she paints and for how well written she's been in her two outings.

Of course, Williams' character has her son Anthony taken by the Candyman in the '92 film, with her left to discover a bloody, empty crib. While the end of that picture would saw Helen sacrifice herself to save this youngster, the poor child would still end up entangled in the Candyman lore, with the adult Anthony becoming part of the Candyman Hive by the time the 2021 picture comes to a close.
