10 More Harry Potter Stars We Would Love To Join Game Of Thrones
4. David Thewlis
Playing werewolf Remus Lupin is Thewlis' most commercially-sucessful role, and the controversial death of his character is still one of the series' most devastating moments. In his teenage years, the Blackpool-born actor took up Punk Rock, and performed in several low-level bands.
Leaving punk behind, Thewlis enrolled at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, before several small-screen roles. In his breakout role, Thewlis won the Best Actor award at Cannes for his role in Naked (1993), and was praised for his part as Ralph in 2008's The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.
Originally auditioning for the part of Professor Quirrell, Thewlis lost out to Ian Hart, only to be cast as Lupin in 2004's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. There was no need to audition this time, as Thewlis was director Alfonso CuarĂ³n's first choice for the longtime Potter family ally.
As Thrones heads on a more nautical path, we could see David Thewlis on deck and the sinister captain of a ship. The return of the Greyjoy family, plus the addition of their evil uncle Euron means that next season we will be taking to the seas - show-runners Benioff and Weiss promise a battle even bigger than last season's 'Battle of the Bastards'.
