10 More Scrapped Movie Scenes Better Than What We Got

The moment Paul Dano's Riddler reveals that he's managed to throw an elaborate and deeply disturbing rat trap on top of Commissioner Pete Savage's head is already one of the creepier scenes you'll find in Matt Reeves' The Batman.

However, had the director gone for one of the many other distressing designs for that horrible head trap, there's a good chance the shocking sequence would have left you feeling even more intentionally uncomfortable.

Before deciding on the dreadful cage device with a few tubes leading into it seen in The Riddler's homemade video in the movie, Reeves had the choice of a few other ridiculously strange contraptions designed by concept artist Matthew Savage.

Among the alternatives created by Savage, and eventually released on Instagram, was an entirely frightening plastic tube maze, a glass box with the words "No More Lies" painted on in red (or blood?), and various other unsettling cages.

Put simply, an already traumatic scene could have been that little more horrific had Reeves opted to get really demented with his rat trap design.
