10 More Scrapped Movie Scenes Better Than What We Got
1. The Alternate Iron Man Post-Credits Scene - Iron Man
There was an idea, before Avengers assembled, Spider-Men swung into the universe, or mutants popped up in the MCU, for a post-credit scene involving Nick Fury hinting at some of the heaviest hitters in Marvel history.
However, the only problem was that Marvel Studios didn't actually possess the rights to use or namedrop these characters in their flicks at the time of the first Iron Man. So, that's likely the reason one specific - and undeniably awesome - version of this iconic Fury post-credits scene never made it into the theatrical version of the first MCU picture.
As eventually revealed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, said alternate Fury exchange with Tony Stark would have involved the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. telling Iron Man about "mutants" and "radioactive bug bites."
At the Saturn Awards, Kevin Feige revealed an alternate version of the post-credits scene from ‘IRON MAN’ with Nick Fury mentioning “mutants” and “radioactive bug bites”. It will be included in the upcoming INFINITY SAGA boxset. (Source: @BRMarvelNews) pic.twitter.com/AqzTokEc67

Fans understandably lost their minds the first time they witnessed Samuel L. Jackson emerge from the shadows to tell Robert Downey Jr. about the "Avengers Initiative." But can you imagine the sound of hundreds of jaws hitting the floor at exactly the same moment as the likes of the X-Men and Spider-Man were alluded to all the way back at the beginning of Phase One?
Feige and the gang were never going to get away with such a bold move in 2008. However, especially now that mutants and web-heads are very much present in the universe, this alternate Fury bombshell suddenly feels like it belongs in the MCU more than his first legendary eye-patched appearance.
