One of the most exciting developments for the Thor threequel is the inclusion of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. He’s a breath of fresh air that the series needs after a couple of underwhelming efforts, and his inclusion should help change up the character dynamic and plot beats of the film.

Of course, the matter of actually including the Hulk into Thor’s Asgardian adventures wasn’t immediately clear. That was, until a rumour surface suggesting that his addition to the story will be made via a shortened adaptation of Planet Hulk.

The beloved Hulk story, long thought to be good enough inspiration for a standalone Hulk movie, finds Bruce Banner exiled from Earth to the alien planet Sakaar, where he fights his way up from gladiator to king. Allegedly, Ragnarok will pick up the character somewhere in the middle of all that, with Thor finding himself on that same planet and introduced to their gladiatorial arena, only to realize the champion is the Hulk.

This rumour would line up with where we last saw Banner in Age Of Ultron and is the most convincing theory yet as to how these two heroes could meet up again in space. Shoehorning them together will be no small task, but if Ragnarok follows some of this comic, it could make it work.
