10 Most Brutal Moments In The MCU

1. Wanda Vs. The Illuminati - Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

Fans had been long awaiting the arrival of The Illuminati after first hearing the voice of Patrick Stewart in the trailer for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

Upon first seeing this group of heroes on screen, excitement levels were immediately high. Stewart's Professor X had his comics-accurate yellow chair; Mr. Fantastic was played by John Krasinski and looked like every piece of fan art; Hayley Atwell was back as a live-action Captain Carter; and thankfully Black Bolt had a costume that was pulled direct from the comics. So, what does the film do with these characters? Kill them instantly in the most brutal way possible, of course.

Black Bolt is killed first when Wanda makes his mouth disappear. When the Inhuman tries to scream with his supersonic voice, the build of pressure causes his head to explode. Mr. Fantastic is next, with Wanda instantly turning him into blue spaghetti as he screams in pain.

Despite putting up a valiant effort, Captain Carter is the third to die, with her own shield slicing her in half. The only death that is not brutal is Captain Marvel’s, as that's a case of a statue crashing down on Monica Rambeau.

The final person to fall during this sequence, of course, is Charles Xavier. With Professor X in the astral plane and attempting to reach out to Wanda's heroic side, the Scarlet Witch ambushes him from behind and breaks his neck.

Here, we had four of the most brutal deaths in MCU history, brought to the screen by master director Sam Raimi, who knows how to push PG-13 to its very limits.
