One character that wasn’t resurrected before the end of Avengers: Endgame was Natasha Romanoff. Bruce Banner said he tried to bring her back with everybody else, but he was either unable to do it, or the magic of an everlasting exchange was just too powerful.

Like many of the Avengers, Natasha dealt with her fair share of guilt after the team lost to Thanos. Over the next five years, she led the Avengers and would have done anything to undo what the Mad Titan did, whatever it took. Unfortunately, what it took was her own life.

No one could take the Soul Stone from Vormir without leaving behind something that they loved at the bottom of the cliffs. Clint and Natasha argued about it in a way only Clint and Natasha could, but ultimately it was Natasha who flung herself to her own death.

The entire fight only built the tension up, with several fake-outs forcing the audience to think that Clint was going over. However, Natasha sacrificed herself to bring back countless billions of lives in what is one of the greatest acts of heroism in the entire MCU, and she was happy to do it.
