10 Most Disappointing Horror Movie Sequels
4. The Lost Boys: The Tribe
Even if the 1987 film made us double check our takeaway
rice, The Lost Boys shifted the idea of the vampire in horror movies. It left
waves in pop culture for decades and provided a glimpse into eternal youth that
served as both a thrill ride and a cautionary tale.
The 2008 sequel didn’t…quite…do…any of that…or anything at all really.
Repeating beloved elements of the first film does not a good movie make, if anything it reminds you of what you of the good movie you wish you were watching! Even the return of Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog (and his brother in a deleted scene) couldn’t save this train wreck of a sequel, which bites even more considering how fondly cherished The Lost Boys is.
Ironically, The Tribe
itself had a disappointing sequel that followed it in 2011 called The Lost
Boys: The Thirst – both of which have a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes – which
proves that these follow ups should have been staked through the heart and
probably left in the eternal damnation of development hell.
