10 Most Horrible Superhero Movies Since 2000
3. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
It's hard to believe that anyone who worked on this film ever watched Spider-Man 3. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits all the same notes: it fails in developing its 54 villains, despite the fact that between them, they have just as much screen time as Gwen Stacy and, uh, Spider-Man, so that Gwen's death at the hands of the Green(ish) Goblin falls totally flat.
Long story short - there is just too much going on, including a Sinister Six set up that doesn't have a place in the story, but its inadequacies outweigh those of Spider-Man 3 just based on the fact that it didn't have an established, beloved franchise to fall back on.
In this age of special effects, and considering the fact that Spider-Man 3 existed in the first place, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has no excuses.
