10 Most INAPPROPRIATE Scenes In Kids Movies

3. Clayton's Death - Tarzan (1999)

Lion King - Inappropriate
Disney

Has anyone actually watched Tarzan recently? That film is brutal.

Everyone fondly the little orphaned scamp getting adopted by a loving gorilla family, or that scene when his pals invade the human camp and play a catchy tune on a globe, a washing line, and some teacups.

What might get overlooked, however, might be the really traumatising stuff: the blood-spattered cabin in which Tarzan is initially found, which also presumably houses the shredded corpses of his parents; the dawning realisation that the group's "gorilla tracker" Clayton actually intends to behead most of the gorillas for a hefty fee; the threat that Tarzan was about to end up as an oddity in a freakshow.

But undoubtedly the most shocking scene comes when Tarzan and Clayton come to blows over the welfare of the apes. In classic Disney fashion, they couldn't have Tarzan just straight up kill the dude (even though he's already proven himself capable of killing a jaguar - surely one man would be small fry in comparison).

Instead, the scuffle among the vines leads to Clayton losing his grip, and tumbling through them to the forest floor. Except, he doesn't hit the floor; the baddie gets tangled up in one of Nature's ready-made nooses and hanged to death.

Sure, we don't see the incident as such. We do see his shadow hanging in a flash of lightening, though. It's just enough for you to pick up on if you're quick, but without having to explain such sensitive subjects to young 'uns who don't fully understand what the image means.
