1. Bub (Day of the Dead)
Day of the Dead was set within an underground facility which was home to two warring factions of the living - one being a small group of scientists who studied the living dead in the hope of stopping whatever was reanimating them and the other being a small group of soldiers who grew increasingly despondent and volatile and were intent on destroying the living dead. One of the chief scientists, Dr. Logan, conducted experiments on the undead that they had managed to capture. In particular, he worked with a zombie he had named "Bub" to see how much of his human mind he may have retained. Amazingly, Bub seemed to respond to common objects and even revealed a more (somewhat) humane nature instead of simply viewing Logan as a meal. Bub would utimately escape from his chains and find Logan dead - which enraged him because he had grown to like him and wanted to show him that he'd escaped of his own accord - and, having been taught how to use basic items, picked up a nearby discarded gun and began to shoot the soldiers responsible for killing Logan.
