10 Most Memorable Postmen on Film & TV

7. Charlie Utter - Deadwood

HBO's Deadwood was a show completely rife with weird and wonderful characters, one of the most memorable of whom was Charlie Utter, the town's mail man played so well by Dayton Callie. Though the postal service rarely got a look in as far as the show's narrative is concerned, we figured that's because with all of the murder that transpires and mad drinking that the townsfolk partake in, there wasn't really that much mail to deliver. Amusingly, Charlie Utter, like many other characters in Deadwood, did actually exist in real life, though the various accounts of him as a good looking, charming and well-attired man who maintained his appearance well are, um, not accurately reflected in the HBO show, not to put too fine a point on it.
