Bizarre, hilarious, or even rather shocking behind-the-scenes stories and rumours are as much a part of the Star Wars experience as laser swords and people running around in chintzy white armour.

And over the last 40+ years, a whole host of rather intriguing, but not always 100% accurate, tales have made their way out into the fandom, with many being led to believe that certain actors despised everything about the galaxy far, far away, or that specific Star Wars moments were actually created due to real-life incidents.

More often than not, however, these sometimes quite outrageous or absurd stories simply fall into the "urban legend" category - fascinating tales that soon took on a life of their own and were even eventually accepted as fact by many as the years rolled by.

Were infamous stories of the galaxy's favourite princess showing off her drug-taking method in the middle of a Star Wars flick, or rumours of on-screen family members refusing to meet up in reality true?

Well, let's take a closer look, you scruffy-looking nerf herder!

10. A Moody And Intense Adam Driver Turned Down A Dinner With Mark Hamill

Back when Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi was still in production in 2017, the legendary Mark Hamill told a story of how the star playing his on-screen nephew, Adam Driver, turned down a rather intriguing offer during the shooting of the film.

According to the Luke Skywalker actor (via Vanity Fair), the "very moody and intenseā€ star behind Kylo Ren didn't take him up on the offer to go out for lunch and spend some time together. Hamill felt that the two characters would have likely been on good terms at one point - noting how Luke "probably babysat for you" - and thought it would perhaps be helpful to hang out a little.

Driver's apparent refusal to sit down for food with the Star Wars icon painted a picture of a committed performer who was purposely isolating himself from the rest of the cast. But that's not entirely the truth.

As the Ben Solo actor would eventually reveal on the The Rich Eisen Show last year (at 5:25 in the video above), he was well up for that meal with Hamill to talk about their characters.

The only reason that dinner never went down was due to the pair's schedules not lining up, with Driver ultimately adding, "I mean... my God, who turns down a dinner with Mark to talk about your character? That would be crazy."

So, there you have it, this urban legend of an intense Driver refusing to meet Hamill because he wanted to stay in character was entirely false.
