10 Most Outlandish Fantastic Four Rumours

6. The Movie Is A Mess

A few weeks before Fantastic Four was set to start shooting, a report surfaced claiming that Fox wanted to scrap the reboot altogether, replacing the writer, director, and cast. That obviously never happened, and while it sounds completely ludicrous, theories that it didn't happen because Fox had to make the movie fast to avoid losing the rights make sense. Assuming that was true, it seems Fox execs never warmed to the reboot as a later report claimed that the movie is a complete "mess". That would lead to millions of dollars worth of reshoots being given the green light in the late stages of production, and as those have since been confirmed as happening, it seems there's at least some truth to this rumour. Throw in the fact that The Hollywood Reporter would later reveal that studio bosses had decided to replace Chronicle editor Elliot Greenberg with Stephen Rivkin (Avatar) to help pull the film together, and it seems like the movie at least needed some fine tuning. Whether the reshoots and behind the scenes changes actually changed that remains to be seen though...
