5. Voldemort Touches Harry’s Forehead
The Third Task of the Triwizard Tournament ends with a twist when Harry and Cedric are pulled across the country via a portkey. Within seconds, Cedric is murdered and Harry is forced to bear witness to Voldemort’s return, which centres around a creepy ritual involving Harry’s own blood.
Ralph Fiennes’ performance is… strange, to say the least.
He’s simultaneously terrifying and amusing, and no moment demonstrates this better than when Voldemort pushes his finger onto Harry’s forehead.
The Dark Lord’s look of madness and pleasure leads to one of the most pause-worthy moments in the entire series. The gnarled teeth, the gleaming eyes, and the dilating tongue create a bizarre image that’s begging to be put on a t-shirt.
Still, you can’t blame Harry for closing his eyes during this scene. Looking into Voldemort’s deranged face would be a terrifying prospect for anybody.
