10 Most Ridiculous Action Movie One-Liners
6. Storm - X-Men
The Line: 'Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning... the same thing that happens to everything else.'
Casting Halle Berry in superhero roles has proved to be a terrible decision time after time. When she got her claws into Catwoman, she proceeded to completely destroy any chance of a character reboot until Nolan's Dark Knight Rises (eight years later) but before that she decided to phone it in as Storm in the X-Men trilogy. She didn't really do anything interesting with the character; her entire preparation for the role was seemingly wearing a white wig and to hell with everything else. This would have slipped under my radar if it wasn't for the fact that someone wrote her a line so mind-numbingly stupid that it's hard to believe it was included in the final cut. It is uttered as our intrepid heroes are battling their evil mutant counterparts in and around the Statue of Liberty. Fittingly for Berry's portrayal Storm was coupled with the least entertaining villain, Toad. With his amazing abilities such as a long tongue and springy legs this was sure to be a showdown for the ages. Predictably Storm cleans house because, despite Berry's efforts to make her dull, she can control the weather for crying out loud. After causing a gust of wind to launch Toad out of a window so that he is only clinging to a railing with his tongue, she shouts the above quote which I can only assume is to confuse him. Mercifully before he is crushed under the idiocy of her statement, she fries him and launches him into the sea.
