10 Most Satisfying Disney Villains Deaths Of All Time

9. Professor Ratigan - The Great Mouse Detective

Rodent crime lord Professor Ratigan is a deliciously sinister creation from the oddball ‘80s effort The Great Mouse Detective. Clad in top hat and tails and voiced by Vincent Price, he is a well observed take off of Sherlock Holmes nemesis Moriarty, and is similarly capable of convoluted schemes.

Typical of a Vincent Price character, Ratigan takes great pleasure in being evil, singing boastfully of his criminal exploits and carrying out his complex ploys for the sheer pleasure of getting one over on the law. When it comes down to it, though, he’s an accomplished physical fighter, and the final confrontation with heroic detective Basil comes down to a brawl on Big Ben. Battling on the hands of the clock, the chimes send the villain plummeting to the ground - a long drop for a human, and even more so for a rat.

The film for the most part is a lighthearted one, but the final scenes turn up the drama, with Ratigan depicted as a properly scary threat, clawing and scratching at our hero. As fun and charming as Price’s voice acting makes him, the scenes here make his eventual end all the sweeter.
