10 Most Shocking Film Scenes Set On The London Underground

4. The Abortion - Creep (2004)

creep If being locked in the London underground isn€™t scary enough, imagine if you were trapped in the tunnels whilst being hunted down by a deranged and demented killer. That is the premise to Christopher Smith€™s Creep. Kate, the unfortunate occupant of the underground, is simply trying to reach a party but unfortunately falls asleep sending her into a spiral of horror. First she is sexually assaulted by Guy, someone she knows from a party the previous night, before the killer begins hunting her and all those she comes across. The killer is shown to be a deformed, mentally ill, hermit called Craig; despite being a similar premise to Death Line, yet more focus on the horror genre, the director was apparently inspired by the American Werewolf in London scene in which a commuter is stalked and killed. The most shocking part of the film has to be the scene depicting the death of Mandy, a homeless girl. After the protagonist, Kate, escapes Craig€™s watery dungeon with fellow captive George. The two navigate the dark corridor surrounding their underground prison and come across a secret, abandoned abortion clinic, and Mandy is strapped to the table. The two escapees believe Mandy to be dead and are chased away by Craig leaving the now conscious Mandy to face the consequences without any means to defend herself. It is her execution that shocked me, the way it was carried out. Following a drawn out segment in which Mandy plead for her life and Craig, despondent and deranged, prepares for an operation, like a doctor; arranging the light, placing on his gown and gloves and placing the gas tube across her mouth despite their being no anaesthetic canister. Craig grabs his weapon of choice (a long serrated saw of a blade) and acts by stabbing her up through the cervix. You are never sure, until he raises the blade, how he is planning to kill Mandy but this was a sick and twisted way to kill off a character. cr
