10 Most Shocking Snubs In The 2022 Oscar Nominations

9. Peter Dinklage - Best Actor

Peter Dinklage - known as "The Dink" to his friends - knows a thing or two when it comes to winning awards. For his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in Game of Throne, he was nominated for eight "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series" awards at the Primetime Emmys, winning four of them (which is a record, by the way).

That role also landed him a Golden Globe and a SAG award and he's also picked up nominations for his parts in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and My Dinner With Hervé. All of that good work seemingly counted for squat this year, as The Dink missed out on an Oscar selection for his widely praised performance in the big screen adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac.

In fact, the entire film got snubbed, as Joe Wright's Cyrano only picked up one nomination and that was for "Best Costume Design". Not that that's anything to be ashamed of, but considering that it's up for "Outstanding British Film" at the upcoming BAFTAs, the Oscar oversight is even more cruel.

Still, at least Peter won't have to make any room in his trophy cabinet. He's clearly running out.
