10 Most Underrated 2000s Horror Movies
4. Bubba Ho-Tep
If you ever needed any more convincing that Bruce Campbell is a cinematic genius after his role as Ash in the Evil Dead franchise, then Bubba Ho-Tep is your next must-watch movie. Starring as a decidedly not-dead Elvis Presley who went into hiding in the 70s, alongside Ossie Davis as the real JFK who somehow changed race after his assassination attempt, the pair deliver an excellent horror-comedy that explores what it's like to be old - and how difficult that can be when there's an ancient mummy on the loose in your retirement home.
Directed by the man behind Phantasm and John Dies At The End, Don Coscarelli has a back catalogue especially suited to this type of genre mashing goodness, and delivers his signature style of cult craziness with a concept that sounds like some sort of historical fever dream. It's weird, it's fun, and it's got both the King and JFK together in one damned movie. What more could you want?
