10 Most Unlikely Duos In Horror Movies

4. Madeline & Helen - Death Becomes Her (1992)

Wacky '90s comedy horror Death Becomes Her may not be Robert Zemeckis's best known movie, but it sure packs some star talent in front of the camera.

Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn lead the film as Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp, the former a narcissistic actress, the latter a writer. But these are no ordinary women. Helen discovers an elixir that provides everlasting life, and Madeline soon follows suit, before the pair set their sights on a partner. Bruce Willis stars as plastic surgeon Ernest Menville, the source of their attentions, affections and madcap schemes.

Though the improbable pair spend the first half of the film taking chunks out of each other -- including, technically, causing each other's death -- they reconcile in the second act and team up, concocting a plan to make Ernest immortal so he can touch up their wounds, preserve their decaying bodies and keep them looking front-page beautiful long into the afterlife.

While Death Becomes Her is not the greatest film of all time, Streep and Hawn make the parts their own, and their double act lasts to the credits, even though they are quite literally in pieces.
