1. Rendezvous With Rama

Arthur C. Clark is one of the most reliable authors around when it comes to his films being adapted into movies. He wrote the novel 2001: A Space Odyssey, its sequels and a host of other sci-fi works. One of his classic books, Rendezvous with Rama, tells of massive starship (50 kilometers in length) that is detected traveling through the solar system in the year 2130. Only one vessel is close enough to intercept it and the bulk of the novel takes place during the exploration of Rama by the crew of the survey ship. Morgan Freeman has been adamant about starring in a film adaption of Rendezvous with Rama for more than a decade now and is still persistently trying to find the right script. David Fincher has long been attached to direct and the combination of Fincher, Freeman, and one of the defining works of science fiction writing is simply too good to pass up.
