9. Peter's Lookalike - Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
The events of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York are set in motion when young Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) follows a man he believes to be his father Peter (Jon Heard) onto a flight he believes to be headed to Florida for the McCallister family vacation.
However, it turns out that Kevin actually ended up following a man who simply happened to be wearing the exact same jacket as his dad, ensuring that Kevin lands in New York City and is once again separated from his family.
Now, this man not only inadvertently caused Kevin to end up in New York, but also teed up the circumstances through which Kevin would once again cross paths with thieves Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) and, in turn, foil their plans once more.
Hilariously, though this Peter lookalike is the reason why Kevin took the wrong flight and was ultimately in New York to take down Harry and Marv, he obviously has no idea the impact his mere presence in the airport had that day.
