Nobody's going to call the screenplays to the Avatar movies masterful, but they are shrewdly effective in onboarding the audience to the world of Pandora, and that's really what matters most.

James Cameron's scripts for the first two Avatar movies both use plentiful voiceover narration from protagonist Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), and given that Worthington isn't exactly the most charismatic actor in the world, it does come off as a rather dull delivery mechanism for such a technologically advanced pair of movies.

Following the release of Avatar: The Way of Water, many fans expressed hope that Avatar 3 would pass the narrating baton to another character, and a few weeks later, Cameron indeed confirmed that fans can expect a new narrator for the threequel.

Beyond stating that he was planning to fine-tune the movie in reaction to what fans enjoyed most about the second film, he confirmed that Avatar 3 will be narrated instead by Jake's son Lo'ak (Britain Dalton), who memorably bonded with the Tulkun Payakan throughout Avatar: The Way of Water.
