10 Movie Franchises That Rebooted Way Too Soon

10. The Hulk

Have we ever seen a really good stand alone Hulk film? Most have been mediocre at best. 2003 saw Ang Lee try to bring the gargantuan green monster to the big screen, and although the special effects were great, and the plot was engaging enough, the film failed to spawn a sequel. Jump forward to 2008 and Marvel Studios began establishing its wider cinematic universe, so they rebooted the iconic hero. Contractual disputes with Edward Norton then led to Mark Ruffalo replacing him in the role of Bruce Banner, once again altering the character in the Avengers. That means that in the past decade we have seen three separate incarnations of the Hulk. Had enough time passed to warrant a reboot? Many would argue that the Hulk film failed to amass a similar level of success as Iron Man because the memory of Ang Lee€™s Hulk was still strong in the memories of the audience. The Hulk of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a great character; Ruffalo did an incredible job in portraying him in the Avengers. Despite this the lingering question remains; when will we see the Hulk get the great film that the character deserves?
