Hollywood loves expanding an existing story when the brand has already brought in lots of fans and lots of that precious, tasty money they all love so much. And it's not only reboots, spin-offs and sequels that studios love to bring out either, they also have a penchant for dipping into the past and giving it both barrels with the prequel treatment.

Some of them are pretty unexpected too. There's even a Heat prequel coming, but that - so far - is being limited to a novel (co-written by director Michael Mann) for now. Whether it will come to the big screen remains to be seen, but if it's successful, you have to suspect it'll make it.

While you'll be aware of the Black Widow prequel coming to cinemas, the Dark Crystal prequel hitting Netflix soon and Disney's Mandalorian project, there are plenty more that haven't necessarily picked up as much attention. And that's despite some of the properties being legitimately giant...

Warner Bros.

According to WeGotThisCovered, Warner Bros are "in the very early stages of developing a Harry Potter TV show," which will be a prequel set mostly at Hogwarts and around parts of Europe. There are no plot details just yet, but WGTC say it will feature all new characters in the same universe, so presumably that rules out the possibility of a first Order Of The Phoenix story?

When more news comes out, it's bound to excite Wizarding World fans a LOT.
