3. Noahs Ark (1928)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Mjtr6V5hCE In the early days of cinema, there were no CGIs of tragedy. It could only replicated as well as possible using the real thing. While filming the famous flood scene, three extras were drowned and several more were injured. Because this was also before the time of lawsuits and settlements, none of the films directors or producers were held accountable for the deaths. However, one year later, the film industry created a set of safety regulations to be upheld on every film set from that point forward, as a way to honor those who had died and further prevent causalities in an otherwise entertaining environment. Were it not for this tragedy, who knows how many more deaths would have to occur before the regulations were set in stone?
