10 Movie Reboots You Didn’t Know Are Coming In 2018

The world wasn't exactly crying out for another Robin Hood origin story, but Peaky Blinders director Otto Bathurst has promised to deliver a gritty take on the legend of English folklore nonetheless.

Kingsman's Taron Egerton will play the arrow-slinging protagonist, sporting a more authentic accent than the Kevin Costner version, with Jamie Foxx as his loyal sidekick Little John and Eve Hewson as love interest Maid Marian.

This version of Robin Hood will be a battle-scarred veteran of the Crusades, who return to England to find the place under the rule of a corrupt crown. Egerton's hero will be up against Paul Anderson's Guy of Gisborne and Ben Mendelsohn's corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham.

With a strong cast behind it, this gritty take on Robin of Loxley could have potential, as long as Bathurst doesn't use it as a contrived attempt to launch a Robin Hood cinematic universe.
