10 Movie Roles Actors Wish They'd Never Accepted
1. Jake Lloyd As Anakin Skywalker
There are plenty of child actors who grow up and regret many of the decisions they made in their youth, but few examples are more tragic than Jake Lloyd. Lloyd was cast as Anakin Skywalker in George Lucas' Star Wars prequel, The Phantom Menace.
He was only ten years old when the film hit cinemas, and it was one of the biggest releases of the early 2000s. Lloyd wasn't really able to enjoy much of that success, however, as he suddenly fell victim to bullying at school. Kids constantly picked on him for appearing in the film, mocking his performance and making him feel left out at every opportunity.
Not only that, but he also received hate mail from angry Star Wars fans, some of whom actually went as far as to blame him - a little boy - for ruining the film franchise they loved so dearly. All of that hate encouraged Lloyd to quit acting altogether, and he eventually went down that same dark path that so many former child actors seem to tread, getting arrested for reckless driving and later being diagnosed with mental health issues, including schizophrenia.
