10 Movie Roles Actors Wish They'd Never Accepted
2. Robert Pattinson As Edward Cullen
Appearing as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies rocketed Robert Pattinson into the stratosphere of stardom, making him more money than he could spend in a lifetime and turning him into a heartthrob for fans all over the world, but when all was said and done, he didn't look back too fondly on his time as a moody, broody vampire.
Countless interview extracts have shown Pattinson criticising the story of the films, as well as the original author Stephenie Meyer, and the English actor really hates his character in particular. He has compared Edward to an "axe murderer" and called Meyer "mad", stating that the books just seem like one of her fantasies and even saying that when he read the first one, it was "like a book that wasn't supposed to be published".
When the films finally finished, Pattinson seemed thoroughly relieved and eager to start appearing in new projects and proving he could play different parts. His widely-publicised relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart also made filming the final films difficult and he later admitted he couldn't wait to be done with them.
