10 Movie Sequel Villains Far Scarier Than The Original

After the build up that took place across two Godzilla movies and one Kong outing, the two monsters finally crossed paths in Godzilla Vs Kong in 2021. As the title suggests, much of the story saw them reignite their ancient rivalry, however before the credits rolled they found themselves teaming up to take down an even bigger foe.

While Mechagodzilla was a nice bit of fan service, realistically it didn't offer too much threat to either Godzilla or Kong. Once the rivals decided to work together, the robotic titan was dispatched with relative ease. The sequel's villain, however, was a different kettle of fish.

The Skar King played this role in Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, and was far more threatening than Mechagodzilla. Not only did he have an army of massive apes at his back, the ancient rival of Godzilla could also boast a leashed Titan, and made it past Kong and Godzilla into the surface world without breaking a sweat.

Once again Godzilla and Kong had to come together to take down a common enemy, but not before Project Powerhouse gifted the latter some awesome augmented power in the form of a mechanical fist. The Skar King and Shimo needed both Godzilla and Kong at better than their best, and even then they only just managed a victory.
