10 Movie Sequels We're DYING To See In 2023

8. Indiana Jones 5

Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning
Lucasfilm

Release Date - June 30th

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn't bad - It was a tragedy. It was so embarrassing, the nuking the fridge scene might be directly responsible for the popularity of memes.

Even though Indiana Jones 5 can hopefully redeem the franchise, people are understandably cynical since this'll be the first instalment not to have Steven Spielberg at the helm.

But if you delve a little deeper, it's clear this sequel has all the right people working on it. It has an all-star cast, including Phoebe Wallers-Bridge, Toby Jones, Antonio Banderas, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, and Mads Mikkelsen, who are all bound to bring a lot of memorable performances and banter to the project.

With Tony Award-winning playwright, Jez Butterworth, pioneering the script, it's safe to say he's put together an amazing story, (with no scenes revolving around aliens or fridges).

Although it's a pity Spielberg won't be directing, James Mangold is a perfect replacement. With his work on Logan and Ford vs Ferrari, Mangold has proven to be a visionary filmmaker, assuring the most skeptical fans that Indiana Jones 5 is in very safe hands.
