10 Movie Sequels You Have No Idea Were Just Released
3. Fortress: Sniper's Eye
To be completely fair, you may well not be aware that there's a first Fortress, let alone a second.
And no, we're not talking about the 1993 Christopher Lambert sci-fi dud Fortress - which already has its own sequel - but last year's Bruce Willis-starring actioner, co-starring Jesse Metcalfe and Chad Michael Murray.
While certainly not panned as harshly as many of Willis' recent VOD thrillers - rocking a "cool" 20% on the Tomatometer - Fortress is nevertheless more bottom-of-the-barrel genre trash, illuminated only by Murray's amusing campy villainous performance.
But as it turns out, Fortress was actually shot back-to-back with a sequel, Fortress: Sniper's Eye, released this past April. Ultimately it's a lesser film in every respect, with Willis' unfortunate medical issues meaning he spends most of the film sitting down and not doing much.
Given that it's basically the same movie as the first, you couldn't be blamed for seeing the cover art and assuming it was the same movie with a new sub-title slapped on it for branding purposes.
Initially a third Fortress film was also in the works, but due to Willis' recent retirement from acting, plans were ultimately canned.
