Though Bond 25 has, like any Bond movie, been surrounded by a ton of dubious rumours - namely that 007 might be getting married this time around - there's one morsel of news that's been so persistent over the last few months that it does indeed seem to be legit.

Multiple reports indicate that Bond's next outing will see him facing off against a female villain, an incredible rarity for the franchise, and Helena Bonham Carter is apparently being courted to play the part.

Regardless of whether or not Carter signs on the dotted line, the prospect of having 007 finally battle a main antagonist that's female feels like a forward-thinking move for a franchise that's so often maligned for its treatment of women (and justifiably so).
