Medical research. Where would we be without it? Drugs help us when were ill. Various procedures help us to live. Surgery has come on leaps and bounds. Incredible stuff. We need these students of medicine to help our daily lives. Good on em. Herbert West was a lonely medical student who just wanted to become a doctor. Nerdy, quiet and rejected by society, luckily he gets a placement with the respected Dr Hans Gruber (probably the brother of that other poor mistaken villain from Die Hard who only wanted to prove how poor security was at Nakatomi Plaza). Gruber is working on an agent which will reanimate the dead. Dangerous? No. It is merely a way to resuscitate the dead and give hope to the families. Simple. After Grubers unfortunate death involving his eyes popping out because the dosage was too large, blamed on Herbert, he goes to the Miskatonic University in NewEngland. There he meets the awful Dr Hill, an academic who steals students work, bullies them and even has sexual desires for his best friends daughter. After Hill tries to steal Wests research, Herbert accidentally slips and cuts off his head with a shovel. From here, Herbert is a victim of circumstance as the serum is used to reanimate the corpses in the morgue. Wests last act is to save his best friend Dan from certain death. What a guy. Just dont trust him with your cat.
