10 Movie Villains With Motives We Can Relate To

6. Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto - X-Men Series

Magneto X Men The Last Stand Scene Is there a more mis-interpreted villain than Magneto. Well, yes, that€™s why he€™s at Number Six, but still, it€™s hard to consider Magneto a true bad guy with all he€™s gone through on the silver screen. Are we really expected to hate a man whose parents are taken from him in a concentration camp by the Nazi€™s? From there, we discover the mutants are the victims of the Mutant Registration Act so, just to prove a point, he kidnaps Senator Kelly and turns him into a mutant. Really though, he€™s just doing it so the Senator understands what it€™s like to be one of them so, basically, the kidnap has good motives. Yes, he tries to then turn all of the world€™s leaders into mutants too but, why make a small point when a bigger one will do? For all this work on positive discrimination, he is thrown into prison but this doesn€™t stop his charitable work in highlighting the plight of mutants and bringing them together in a Brotherhood. He€™s even falsely accused of killing President Kennedy (when we all know it was lee Harvey Oswald right? Right?!). Anyway, Erik is a fighter for equal rights and, like any strong-willed campaigner, is punished by the system. Power to the mutants!
