10 Movies Based On Books That Should've NEVER Been Made
6. Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief is the first in Rick Riordan's Camp Half-Blood series, a popular book franchise following Percy, Son of Poseidon who combines his real world antics with a Greek Mythology school after he discovers his hidden powers - reminiscent of a certain wizard's story?
Film one came out in 2010, with a range of reviews and confusion from film and book lovers. Many plot points were deleted from the final cut and bad choices were made - even down to the aging of the characters, who in the books are around 12 years old yet played by 19 and 23 year old Logan Lerman and Alexandra Daddario in the movie.
Although the first film gained an average response, Sea Of Monsters was released in 2013 and received the same, if not worse, backlash. Now the actors were even older, with actor Brandon T Jackson still playing a teen as he pushed 30 years old.
Logan has since confirmed that no more films will be going ahead, however it has been hinted that we may see a TV series in the future.
