10 Movies From 2016 That Could Score 100% On Rotten Tomatoes

6. The BFG

Release Date: July 1, 2016 Steven Spielberg hasn't directed a family movie since The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, which was pretty good but not quite a classic. Spielberg has directed some of the greatest family movies of all-time, though, including E.T.: The Extraterrestrial, Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. And his most recent effort, Cold War drama Bridge of Spies, proved that the master hasn't lost his touch after a three-year hiatus. Which means that his next film, a live-action adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic The BFG, could wind up being one of his greatest films; a modern classic for children of all ages. Here's what The BFG has going for it, Spielberg aside: a script by Melissa Mathison, who penned the screenplay for E.T., Mark Rylance as the BFG (if you've seen Bridge of Spies, you'll know why that's a brilliant, brilliant casting decision), and Bill Hader as Bloodbottler. Then there's music from John Williams, Janusz KamiĀ„ski on cinematography duties, and... well, what else do you want? Which critic can resist the charms of Spielberg and Dahl?
