10 Movies Made Under INSANE Conditions
7. It Was Completed Without A Director - Wonder Park
The most basic expectation you can have for any movie is that it's actually completed with a credited director, because even when filmmakers decide to have their name removed from a project, it's typically replaced with a pseudonym like Alan Smithee.
But in the case of 2019's already-forgotten animated film Wonder Park, the final stretch of production - well over a year, in fact - was completed without a director.
Though former Pixar animator Dylan Brown was announced to be directing the film in November 2015, in January 2018 it was reported that Paramount had fired him after investigating allegations of "inappropriate and unwanted conduct."
Paramount consequently offered the directing credit to numerous key members of the production team, all of whom refused for fear that taking the credit would harm their careers. Yikes.
Now, it's clear from the script alone that Wonder Park was never going to be a great movie, let alone a good one, but having an effectively rudderless ship for an entire 14 months before the movie's release can not have helped it in any way.
Shocker: Wonder Park received predominantly negative reviews from critics and tanked at the box office.
