10 Movies Scenes That You Probably Fast-Forwarded As A Kid

6. The Funeral - My Girl

My Girl became a staple film for all children who had it on VHS, because we were all forced to re-watch the same movies over and over again as kids and - best of all - we didn't seem to mind that. Still, whereas lots of inclusions here have been listed because they were too scary or were downright boring, this one was all-out devastating. If you haven't seen My Girl, it's a movie about a small girl who must come to terms with the death of her friend. That friend is played by Macaulay Culkin, by the way, and he's downright adorable. In one iconic scene, the little chap accidentally winds up getting stung by hornets - he's allergic, so he actually dies. Next we're treated to a heartbreaking funeral sequence, where our titular Girl breaks down, and it's all too much. For kids who were familiar with My Girl, then, the movie was best viewed with the funeral sequence nicely skipped over, thank you.
