If you make a movie called Batman V Superman, then there's a virtual guarantee that you're not going to be able to please everyone. Even the title alone conjures up so many images to so many comic book fans across the world that there will always be people disappointed in the final product.

Zack Snyder's epic does have its supporters, but a lot of people still feel that the movie failed to live up to the pre-release hype that painted it as a game-changing cinematic event. It does have its merits from a technical standpoint but suffers from an almost relentlessly downbeat tone, a poor villain with confusing motivations, a wealth of unexplored subplots, the rapid expansion of the DCEU and an underwhelming CGI-fest climax.

Not many blockbusters earn $873.3m at the box office and get labelled a commercial disappointment, but Batman V Superman had been touted as a shoo-in to reach the billion dollar mark ever since it was first announced. While it seemed that fans had enjoyed the movie much more than the critics, the titanic first meeting of DC's 'Big Two' was a less-than-auspicious start nonetheless.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
