10 Movies That Made You Cheer Brutal Moments

6. The Untouchables - The Train Station Scene

Maybe not the first film that comes to mind when thinking of movies with 'brutal moments', but a revisit of the famous shootout on the train station steps is a great example of sequences that bring joy against our better instincts.

The scene sees Eliot Ness and his younger counterpart George Stone wait outside the train station, waiting to ambush a lawyer who can implicate Al Capone. At the very moment that Ness assists a lady in taking her pram up the stairs, the lawyer and his protectors arrive.

What follows is an epic showdown, guns blazing away like an old western classic, and bloodied bodies collapsing to the ground. While we all hope that the baby - who is now in a pram free falling down the stairs - isn't caught in the crossfire, we are left cheering for Ness and Stone as they take down the bad guys in spite of numerous innocent casualties around them.

Even the score lets us know that it's okay to feel good, and serves as the most uplifting scene featuring the massacre of half a dozen innocents you'll ever witness!
